SRC call for ban on Rip-Off Landlords
In response to a Scottish government consultation on proposed legislation on Tenancy Deposits in the private rented housing sector we have called for the introduction of a rent deposit scheme. Such a system is already in place in England where deposit money is held by a third party who ensures fair protection for both tenants and landlords.
These new proposed laws give a fantastic opportunity for private accommodation deposits to be protected in a way unseen before in Scotland. We are keen to see this adopted as soon as possible.
